| Okay, so ever since I made an account here, my head has been racing with character concepts. Balls. So here's my idea. It'll explain why I don't make an Application right away, but instead write this up first:
The character idea that is most interesting is that of Deep1. Deep1 was a user of the old forum, so he'd probably know Shutter, Klein, YellowKing and ArkMaster. He was one of the senior members even back then and basically has seen some crazy stuff. he also took a liking to YellowKing in particular for some reason. Now, when the old forum went down, most of the characters we have established didn't really see what exactly happened. They have a rough idea, but it's all very vague. Deep1 was there, though. And it completely messed him up. He suffers from a serious case of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder. he can't really consciously remember what exactly happened and he doesn't want to, but he dreams of it. Sometimes he even has flashbacks. The reason why he never went to Mirrorhands was the fact that he spent a long time in a mental institution after the death of the old forum and just got out. The story I'm going for with this character is the following: Deep1 gets out of hospital and heads straight for YellowKing's old house, because he thinks YK still lives there and he can't contact any of the old forumites. YK is the only guy whose home he has ever been to, so it's the first choice. And when he gets there, he finds the rather fresh dead body of YellowKing's niece who moved into the house after YK left. He finds the note that YK left for anyone who might come to live in the house, which leads him to Mirrorhands and then here.
I think it would be good to have another one of the old folks around and this time someone who can actually give advice and isn't completely clueless like YellowKing was a lot of times.
Now to the explanation: This character miiiight throw some serious waves. He'll have a lot to talk about. After all he's been out of the loop for quite some time, all his friends are either dead or missing and he just ran into a paranormal murder that will most likely be pinned on one of his old friends. Because of this, we should probably plan this character's introduction carefully, so it doesn't completely overwhelm the forum.
We should also talk about the relationship between Shutter and Deep1, who would probably be the only old forum people around for a while.
EDIT: And by the way, when I say "Old Forum", I don't mean Mirrorhands. I mean the forum before that. Just to clarify.

| Another veteran would be a really good idea! With YK and Klein missing I already feared that the role of advisor would completely fall to Shutter ,which would be okay from times to times but would over the time interfere with the fact that he can be a quite grumpy know-it-all. Not reallyth stuff a mentor should be made of For the relationship: There is a large spectrum of possibilities. Mutual respect due to the fact that they both are some kind of veterans? Maybe one of them screwed up in the past and the other is still blaming him? Maybe we should first define how Deep1 used to handle paranormal activities and what kind of guy he was in the old days before his mind was blown through six dimensions? | |

I'm glad you think so. - Shutter wrote:

Maybe we should first define how Deep1 used to handle paranormal activities and what kind of guy he was in the old days before his mind was blown through six dimensions? Right. I think, Deep1 will be a rather careful individual, to offset Shutter's brazen and daredevilish attitude. However, he's probably gonna be more proactive than YK was. I think it would make sense if he used to be one of those people who go out looking for trouble, finding stuff out, trying rituals. The extreme shock probably cooled him down a bit. he'll go out of his way to avoid direct confrontations with the paranormal, unless it's on his terms now. Now for the relationship: With extreme personalities like Shutter's and pre-disaster-Deep1's things can usually go two ways: Either they were best buds, or they got on each other's nerves a lot. Also, and this is probably important, longer stretches of inactivity can rather easily be explained by the serious mental problems this guy has. When he gets too absorbed in paranormal things, the flashbacks might increase to a point where he has to shut himself in for a while.

| Actually i think we can slit that even more. There can be a pre-catastrophic relationship and a after-catastrophic one. Like first they were best buds but then maybe shutter screwed something up big time and since that Deep finds it hard to forgive him maybe? I believe it would be healthy to show that Shutter also made some major mistakes when it comes to the paranormal so id would be fine woth me. Oh!Oh! We could say that a friend (maybe even girlfriend) of them died due to that accident? That would be a bit clichè but think of the drama! | |

That would be a bit clichè but think of the drama! that sounds a little extreme... how about this: Deep1 and Shutter were out trying to end some kind of paranormal threat. Like for example a Bodywalker. But then a second one showed up and Shutter just kinda took off chasing it? So Deep1 was left behind to deal with the original threat and almost died. Does that sound like something Shutter would do?

Okay. Guess we'll make it so. EDIT: All right, my character account is pretty much ready. I suppose we should start a proper planning thread. I don't wanna introduce Deep1 while we have stuff on our platter. He might throw waves.

| Actually i think that you can introduce him right away. We don't have any real emergencies for now so it may be the best time to stir things up a bit. | |

| I agree with JPunkt here (JPunkt stahp posting here with Shutter please >.<)
We can use a bit of stirring up right now. Also that gives us the opportunity to profit from Deep1s experience later on with the other two plots.
